Ludecontrol
Ludecat is an indie game tournament I’ve been helping produce for several years, mainly by providing the livestream and the technical foundation for the show.
In the early days, I was stuck at the back of the venue, glued to my streaming PC and Stream Decks. Wanting more freedom to move around, I hacked together a few HTML pages that let me control almost everything I needed from within the crowd.
What followed was a steady stream of improvements, culminating in a custom implementation of the vMix web interface that displays live info about a set of predefined scenes. Paired with a PTZ camera controller, I can now produce the entire event from my iPad in the middle of the audience. It’s turned a static, desk-bound workflow into something far more flexible and fun.
